Digital Fairies

Liliana Gonzalez, also known as Foga (Techno multi-genre side project), is originally from Mexico City, the cradle of Aztec culture. She began her journey into the psychedelic world at an early age, Inspired by the musical taste of her parents, who were lovers of 80’s disco music and psychedelic rock. She started attending electronic music festivals, artistic and cultural events focused on psychedelia and world-wide contraculture expressions. Over time, this exposure led her to define her taste for Dark-Psy and Hi-Tech genres. Some of her musical influences are Pre-Hispanic & Tribal rhythms, Metal, Hardcore, Drum and Acid Phat Bass, just to highlight some. In 2015, she ventured into organizing electronic festivals, focused on Psychedelic genres such as Dark-Psy, Hi-tech, fast experimental. These events featured prominent international artists like Yaminahua, Technical Hitch, Mubali, Dog of Tears, and Demoniac Insomniac, just to mention some. Being a lover of visual art and the mysteries of sacred plants ceremony usage, Liliana provides a rich context to the music she presents under the project recognized as “Digital Fairies”(2019), emphasizing Hi-Tech, Dark-Psy and fast-tempo experimental sequences, aleatoric elements and unusual time signatures. The name originated from a psychedelic experience at the Palenque’s Mexican jungle with mushrooms, where she interacted with a hologram of a fairy dancing on the speakers for a long time, a vision she now associates with herself. Fairies are described as kind and benevolent beings, although they can also be mischievous and play pranks. They are usually depicted as beautiful, mysterious and luminous creatures from mother nature. The Digital Fairies project has well proved a high level of acceptance of this intricate style, which led her to travel to various states within Mexico and current invitations to play in other countries. In 2021, she initiated a parallel project signed as “Foga,” featuring different genres of Techno while preserving her dark style.
